Georgia Scholarship $1,000
High school seniors and college students attending school in Georgia have the opportunity to apply for a $1000 scholarship. The Walter Harrison Scholarship program awards $1,000 to students attending any vocational school or two- or four-year accredited college or university in Georgia.
The scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic achievement and financial need. The program was started by the Energy Cooperatives in Georgia’s to honor Walter Harrison, a pioneer in providing electricity in rural Georgia.
HOPE Scholarships for Georgia Students Could be Limited
Source: Macon Telegraph (GA): The Georgia legislature is considering changing the HOPE scholarship program for students in Georgia. The new requirements would limit HOPE eligibility to 127 semester hours. If approved this change would take effect starting with next fall’s freshmen.
