Virginia - Black Students Scholarship
A men’s club has been providing a scholarship for black high school seniors for 14 years. Graduating seniors in Virginia should apply for the scholarship.
Four years ago, the New River Valley Progressive Men’s Club upped that number to two $1,000 scholarships each year and will do so again this fall. Applications should be made by the end of June.
Friends Create a Memorial Scholarship
They called themselves The Fabulous Five. Then, in November 2004, one member of the close-knit group of friends was on his way home from a high school field trip when the car he was riding in was involved in an accident. Mark Tsvok of West Hartford died several hours later at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center.
