Norman, Oklahoma Scholarship Workshop

A free scholarship workshop is being offered on October 17th at the Norman Public Library. High school juniors, seniors and parents are encouraged to attend. The workshop is being provided by Rose State College in Midwest City.

Attendees will be guided through the college application processing, online research, and financial aid basics. Students are asked to bring their ACT scores if they have them, their Social Security number, and a current high school transcript.

Glaser Foundation Spring Scholarships for Texas Students

The Glaser Family Charitable Foundation is currently accepting scholarship applications for the Spring 2006 semester until the deadline date of October 14, 2005.

Applicants may be high school seniors or currently enrolled college students with a 2.0 GPA and above. At least 80% of the scholarships will be awarded to students from Fannin County, Texas.

New Jersey Conservation Science Scholarship

The New Jersey Association of Conservation Districts will award a $1,000 Memorial Scholarship to any state resident who: is a full-time college student, has completed four full semesters of study, and is enrolled in a major related to conservation of natural resources such as agriculture, agronomy, soil science, plant science, forestry, geography, environmental science, wildlife or fisheries management or other related areas. Applications are due Oct. 6 and are available by contacting Freehold Soil Conservation District at (732) 683-8500.

Peanut Butter Scholarship for Kids Age 6-12

The fourth annual “Jif® Most Creative Peanut Butter Sandwich Contest™” will help send 6 students to college. Parents can enter their kids (ages 6 -12) in the contest. Sandwiches will be judged on creativity, taste, appearance, nutritional balance and ease of preparation. Entries must contain at least two tablespoons of Jif Peanut Butter.

Five finalists will ultimately be selected to compete in a live judging event in New York City in March 2006. The grand prize winner will receive a $10,000 scholarship fund and four runner-ups will each receive a $1,000 scholarship fund. All finalists will receive a Jif ® gift basket.

St. Petersburg Florida Area Scholarships

The St. Petersburg Times is now accepting applications for the Barnes Scholarship which will award four students up to $15,000 annually for four years at any nationally accredited collegee or university.

Applicants must be high school seniors in Citrus, Hernando, Pasco, Pinellas and Hillsborough, Florida counties. The deadline for entry is Oct. 14.

Siemens Westinghouse Competition in Math, Science & Technology

The Siemens Westinghouse Competition in Math, Science & Technology is a nationally recognized science research competition for high school students. There are six regional events held a universities across the country that students must participate in to qualify for the national event. The deadline for students to enter the 2005-06 Siemens Westinghouse Competition is Monday, October 3.

Regional finalists each receive scholarships of $1,000 each for team members and and $3,000 each as an individual regional winner. The winning team will receive $6,000 to be divided among team members. Regional winners have the opportunity to advance to the National Competition in New York City.

The top placing individual and team winners at the national event will be awarded additional scholarships of $100,000. Runners up will receive scholarships ranging from $10,000 to $50,000.

Racine, Wisconsin Scholarships for Women

The Miss Racine Scholarship Pageant is open to women ages 17-24 who live, work or attend school full-time in Racine County or attend the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. The winner will receive a $2,500 college scholarship to the college of her choice and participate in the Miss Wisconsin pageant in June.

Scholarships for Midland Odessa Texas Area Students

The Permian Basin Area Foundation offers a variety of academic scholarships to help students graduating from high schools and/or attending colleges in the region. Students attending high school in Midland, Odessa, and many rural counties in west Texas may qualify for these scholarships.
