Still Need a Scholarship for Fall 2005?
There are several scholarships still available for Fall 2005 semester. Here are some scholarships to apply for now - the deadline is sometime next month.
America Loves Math Scholarship Grades 3-12
The 1st annual “America Loves Math” competition invites 3rd-12th grade students to write about why they love math!
Students in grades 3 through 12 are invited to submit a brief essay (250 words or less) about why they love math. Essays will be judged in three age categories:
Elementary (3rd-5th grades), Junior High (6th-8th grades) and High School (9th-12th grades).
The best overall essay (from any age category) will win the Grand Prize: a $1000 college scholarship and a free individual entry into the 2005-2006 Online Math League. $250 college scholarships and free individual Online Math League entries will be awarded to the best essays in each of the age ranges not represented by the Grand Prize winner.
In addition, five second-prize winners will be chosen from each age category. These 15 winners will also receive free individual entries into the 2005-2006 Online Math League contests.
Students who wish to enter this contest should go to http://www.onlinemathleague.com read the full contest rules and to submit their essays. All essays must be received by midnight on October 21, 2005. Winners will be notified on October 24, 2005.

Each year SuperCollege.com awards scholarships to high school and college students to further their college education.

Scholarships in Religion for Journalists
Journalists interested in taking college courses in religion or spirituality may apply for a new scholarship program offered by the Religion Newswriters Association.
Twenty journalists will receive scholarships for up to $5,000 each to study religion at any accredited college, university or seminary. Scholarships cover expenses including tuition, registration fees and books. Scholarships are funded by a generous grant from the Lilly Endowment, Inc. to the Religion Newswriters Foundation, RNA’s charitable arm.

Like to Bowl? Get a college scholarship from national bowling organizations
There are several scholarships available for avid blowlers. Teens who participate in leagues and/or tournaments sponsored by the YABA and USBC organizations may be eligible for several national bowling-related scholarship competitions. Additional programs are available for adults who are involved with youth bowling programs.

Portland State University Scholarships
PSU offers a variety of scholarships for students including awards based upon field of study. Other awards are based upon encouraging underrepresented groups. Scholarships for students of Native American and Hispanic heritage are available and have a deadline of July 29th.

$500 OP Loftbed Company Scholarship
The OP Scholarship will award a $500 scholarship to applicants who complete an application and answer a set of 5 questions. This scholarship has a list of extensive rules, so be sure to print out the rules and review them before completing the application and questions. Take special note of rule #12 which will effect how you answer the questions.
Abraham Lincoln Memorial Scholarship
The Lincoln Forum Platt Family Scholarship Essay Contest will award three scholarships in amounts of $1000, $500, and $250. Applicants must write an essay on the topic: “If Abraham Lincoln had not been assassinated, how would the course of American history have changed?”
$500 Scholarships Offered 4 Times Per Year

Scholarship recipients are selected according to merit on a competitive basis. In addition, applicants must demontrate career and academic potential measured by a combination of factors, including past performance and career objectives.
